About the Artist

Sonja Kalmanfi is a contemporary painter whose work moves between realism and abstraction. Living and working between Germany and Southern Italy, her artistic practice is deeply rooted in the landscapes of the Cilento National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage region that has served as her primary source of inspiration since 2009.

In her paintings, she explores the relationship between the external landscape and inner emotional experience, transforming light, colour, and atmosphere into poetic visual spaces.

Balancing careful observation with free interpretation, Kalmanfi creates atmospheric worlds in which nature, memory, and emotion converge. Her works invite viewers to experience landscape not merely as a physical place, but as a space of reflection and emotional resonance.
